I’m well aware that it’s been quite some time since I have drafted a post, let alone actually post anything on here so I thought it best I check in so you know I have all of the intentions of getting back into the swing of blogging in 2022 and a bit about where I’ve been, what I’ve been thinking etc.
I could sit here and draft a long winded apology full of excuses as to why I’ve not been around however, if I want to be frank and honest with you I’ve been distracted by life, Disney+ (this was a new addition to our lives since we got rid of our Virgin box when we moved), sorting through shit we hauled across to the house which definitely should have been thrown out (and remains in the boot of my car since I still haven’t been to the charity shop), decorating and work.

Thinking back, since I decided to stop going onto Instagram I’ve not been getting the same inspiration as I used to. I don’t buy clothes from any of the fast fashion chains anymore as they don’t align with my beliefs (fuck off Boohoo with your terrible suppliers and throwaway culture) and I just don’t feel like I fit in on there anymore! I spend time browsing charity and thrift shops for unique clothes (although on my last haul I ended up with a cardigan that had three fag burns in… that I’m wearing right now because fuck it, I’m at home) and haven’t found the perfect post with a new perspective that I haven’t covered yet.

I’ve spent a lot of time reading and reflecting on my life, thinking back on when I felt most creative and inspired which turned out to be when I was probably my most anxious. My mental health is probably the best it’s been in years (with the odd wobble here and there, I wouldn’t be human if I didn’t have my moments!) and I can’t help but wonder whether that’s why I’ve not been writing. Perhaps I’ve not needed to use this blog as a crutch for my mental health as I’m the happiest and most stable I’ve ever been!
Nevertheless, I’m going to be making a more conscious effort to switch off from my day job (I love being a property manager but that doesn’t mean I don’t need time to zone out from it) and revert back with some witty content for you.
