Four years. Four whole years of learning, growing and establishing my blog into what it is today. The time has flown by and it only feels like yesterday that I was laying awake in bed (the time when all great ideas come), thinking that a blog devoted to terrible fashion choices would be a funny idea that people might get on board with.

I’ll admit that my devotion has wavered over the last few months, what with my new job and lack of wanting to spank all of my money on new clothes from a shitty brand that doesn’t care about humanity or the planet – it’s been a challenge to get inspiration when you don’t want to contribute to the issues facing the world of fashion. However one of my resolutions for 2020 is to get back into the swing of blogging again, with a set schedule and forward planning (not like my last minute writing of today’s post).
So what has changed in four years? Quite a lot really and most of it behind the screen. I dropped off my surname from the original title when I went self-hosted (well, initially it was still hosted on WordPress), moved my entire site from WordPress to host on SiteGround, amped up my SEO and switched up my site template after the whole Pipdig theme scandal.
I’ve had about 3 somewhat viral posts that continue to bring me traffic from Google today (albeit not as much as they used to), collaborated with a few brands and had a couple of sponsored posts. I’ve learnt so much about the shitty internet brands out there and exposed the scammers of Instagram, have opened my mind to the world of ethical fashion and created a catalogue of reading material on being more sustainable with your wardrobe. I’ve made some great internet friends, have spoken with people about all kinds of topics across the globe and managed to reach a small number of people that searched the internet in vain for someone else that had suffered with hepatitis E or PKD.

If someone had told me where my blog would be I wouldn’t have believed that little old me could create all of that.
The Fashion Faux Pas of Gabrielle started as a hobby and has grown to be a big part of my life, I constantly have it in the back of my mind whenever I go anywhere or do anything, I want to share anything that I think is great or shit, make sure you all know about a new hack or my experience with a medical issue.
Thank you for supporting me over the years and I promise that I’ll continue to bring you laughs for many years to come.
Love Gaby xx
