It’s the season of endless parties, celebrating with family and friends, drinking, eating and best of all, shopping. I had a couple of parties to attend in the run up to Christmas and thought I would treat myself to some new dresses to rock.
Having spent hours strolling around Cambridge with Aaron and endless nights scrolling through the likes of ASOS and Topshop, I decided to search for exactly what I was after on eBay. I’m sure we’ve established that I have absolutely no shame when it comes to buying secondhand, so why not do it for the festive season too?
I have a pair of glittery heeled ankle boots that are my absolute faves – joint place with my Aladdin boots (aptly named by my cousin Tammy – she thinks they look like the magic carpet and I’m not sure she meant that in a good way lol) that I’m planning on wearing at some point between now and New Year – and I wanted to pair them with something as sparkly and out there as the boots. I always find dressing for an occasion easier when you have a starting point for inspiration, which in my case was these boots.
I wasn’t finding the right style of dress in my usual go to places, so when I came across two different dresses on the same night, brand new with tags might I add, I knew I had to have them both.

For the work Christmas party I decided to go all out glitter and wear this little number from Warehouse – brand new with tags and retailing at £60, this came in at a sweet £25 and I was over the moon when I put an offer in for below the reserve and the seller accepted. So many people commented on how glittery I was and I wasn’t so sure whether to take it as a compliment or not, but I rolled with it and owned my glitter bomb look.

The following night after a day of recovering from the boozy Christmas party, we headed out for my best friend Maisie’s mum and step-dad’s joint hen/stag do and I picked out the other bargain ASOS dress, a glitzy embellished nude little number, again I thought my glittery boots would be a great idea although in hindsight my feet definitely deserved a break – I’ve still got achy feet from dancing both nights away.
I think I preferred my second outfit and love how the first photo of me with my besties reflects our personal styles to a T! Maisie with her bright blonde hair against burgundy, Esther with her caramel coloured skin with leopard print and me with the glitter all over!
This post is supposed to show how you don’t need to find your festive outfits on the high street, just check out eBay, charity shops or one of the many secondhand clothing apps – let’s save the planet starting with our wardrobes!

Well, you know me Gab, I LOVE to shop secondhand! Charlotte was searching for an outfit for her winter dance at the beginning of December and she chose a very cute little black skater skirt from a place in the mall. We tried to find a matching top at the mall but didn’t find a thing. So, off to ‘Fashion Secrets’ in Birch Run (aka Goodwill) and we found 2 tops straight away! Yay!! I also found something and spend less on 3 items from there than I would have on one item from the mall. Yay again! xxx
Oooh I love it when you find a good bargain in a secondhand store and definitely need to head to Goodwill one day! Xxx
