It’s the brand that I’ve heard grand things about, the setting powder that all women will swear by and I hadn’t tried anything from there until today. So I thought I’d pick up two things – the infamous setting powder (I picked the Glow because it’s summer and ya know, we all want that glow) and the tinted moisturiser as I’m a bit fed up with the foundations I’ve got at the moment. I’ve heard some great reviews about both of the products, so it’s time to put them both to the test and see whether I’m going to be jumping on the bandwagon.
Translucent Glow Setting Powder
12 Hour Luminous Finish:
Custom pearl blend creates a radiant finish with a touch of sheer coverage that resists settling into fine lines and pores. Keeps makeup in place for 12 hours.Weightless Texture:
This lightweight, innovative powder doubles the wear of foundation without adding weight or texture. No Photo Flashback:
This no-flashback formula is perfect for photos and creates a soft-focus effect to subtly blur the look of fine lines and imperfections without looking cakey. Two Shades for Virtually All Skintones:
Translucent: Perfect for fair to medium and tan skin tones.
Translucent Medium Deep: Ideal for medium-deep to deep skin tones.
This stuff has changed my life, I fucked it up at first by using a brush that was too dense making me shine like a bloody disco ball, but once I buffed it out and swapped my brushes, I just felt radiant and gorgeous. I always thought people were just raving about it because it’s a “cult product” but god damn, it’s a goodun! I took some morning and evening shots of my makeup to show what it looks like after a long day at work and relentless touching of the face (I’m an uncontrollable face toucher – chop my hands off please) and was pretty impressed with the impact it had compared to my usual messy face.
I’d say it does as it says on the tin, it’s weightless, the shade was perfect for my skin tone and long-wearing (although I can’t speak for the flashback, I’ve read and heard from loads of people that have said you don’t get any which is great for all of you posers out there).
Before work
After work
Would’ya look at that glow?! Even after two hours in the car and a eight and a half hours in the office, the glow is still there, my blush and bronzer game is still strong, which normally ends up all patchy by this time, although I will say that my spots starting coming through (I’m open to recommendations of great concealers because these bad lads just keep on coming!)
All in all, I’m very impressed and can’t wait to shimmer myself up when we jet off to Tenerife in September (I had to drop the fact we’ve booked a holiday into this post somehow).
Tinted Moisturiser
The lightweight, moisturizing formula adds a soft hint of color that evens and enhances skin without hiding it. Use this tinted moisturizer in place of foundation for an effortless, natural dewy complexion with a fresh glow. Stays color-true; wears all day.
Delivers advanced skin-caring benefits: Sodium hyaluronate hydrates and visibly softens fine, dry lines. Broad Spectrum SPF 20 UVB/UVA sunscreen plus a power-blend of antioxidant vitamins C and E help protect skin from the damaging effects of the environment.
I’ll be honest, I was initially disappointed when I applied this as I expected to see a bit more coverage than there was. However, if you layer it a bit and add some concealer every here and there, it actually just looked like my skin but fresher, which is just what I was after.
I’m wearing this in the photos above and love how natural it all looks – I will say I found it looked better with my bronzer, blush and the glow from the setting powder, but think it’s going to be perfect for the warmer months when my skin hopefully gets a bit better. I love that it has SPF in it and you get the benefit of moisturisation – I can’t speak for the other benefits listed as I’ve only used it a couple of times, but will make sure to report back once I’ve had a bit longer to try it out.
All in all, I reckon I’m a Laura Mercier convert, at this point, especially when it comes to the setting powder – the glow is so gorgeous and doesn’t make you look sweaty and we don’t want that now do we?!

Both of these products sound right up my street! I’ve heard of the original Laura Mercier setting powder as like you said, it’s a cult product and sooo many YouTubers I watch use it constantly. I had no idea there was a glow version, that sounds even better! I’m loving the look of hydrated, natural, glowy looking skin lately the powder paired with the tinted moisturiser sounds perfect for me. I love how things like BB creams and stuff are a “your skin but better” type vibe, especially in the Summer when you don’t want to be caking foundation on.

Don’t get me wrong, I love beauty and makeup and making myself look all nice but I feel like I’ve got to a point in my life where I’m 1) Happy enough with my natural self and 2) Would much rather spend my time on productive things rather than applying a full face every damn day. I only go for a full face application now when it’s a special occasion/night out and even then I sometimes skip foundation and stick with concealer and powder… The combination of the tinted moisturiser and setting powder sounds PERFECT for every day wear for lazy people (like me) and people who want to let their skin breathe a bit more! I think both look absolutely gorge on you Gab and you’re 100% right, that powder makes your skin glow!!

Right?! I’m getting too old for that shit (not that I’ve ever been a huge makeup wearer – just obligatory base and mascara) and the amount of products everyone puts on their face is unreal! I’m so excited to have a bit more of a tan and to look like a glowing sun kissed person that has no worries about life 😂❤️❤️
