A couple of months back I wrote a post called Twenty-six and not a lot of friends where I poured my heart out about a topic that had been bothering me for quite a while – I’d found myself at the grand age of twenty-six without many people in my life I could turn to about the silly shit your husband doesn’t understand, like the struggles of being a woman, share fashion and beauty tips or just chat a load of shit. So in the true fashion of a blogger, I wrote an entire post and contemplated posting it for a few days before clicking that publish button.
It took a lot of guts to do it and I had such an amazing reception with many other people of all ages able to relate. Two of which were girls that I had gone to senior school with and hadn’t really spoken to since leaving, or ever really! We ended up in a group chat on Facebook messenger after comments were going back and forth on the post and finally agreed to meet for a quick coffee (read hot chocolate – none of us are massive fans, but coffee sounds more adult-like lol) on Sunday.
I won’t lie and say I wasn’t nervous as I was hoping my legs wouldn’t do their weird thing when something made me jump or I suddenly decided to break out into a run (perhaps some aliens might start to take over town like in The World’s End starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost – fun fact, it was filmed in our town), but once they’d arrived and we started to chat, all my worries melted away.
After hot chocolates in Costa (their lack of cinnamon flavours disappointed us all), we popped into Home Bargains to mooch at the cleaning products featured in Mrs Hinch’s Instagram stories, then back to the car park where we had an impromptu photo shoot (Kaytie is also a blogger so I wasn’t the only vain one around that day).
I’m so happy that I’ve made a couple of new friends and that they’ve also found some too – a simple blog post has helped everyone! Big shout out to Kaytie and Charlette – I hope you don’t mind that I’ve plastered your faces all over here 😉 and I can’t wait to do some hunting in TK Maxx for some bargains soon!
Let me know if you’ve made any friends through social media and tag them in the comments to share the love and make sure to check out Kaytie’s blog My Pug and Me where she shares everything about her life with ME, her love of clothing and beauty.

Gab this is so lovely! One thing I do love about blogging is some of the lovely people I’ve met through it, I even found a best friend though it which I just think is amazing. These photos are super cute, it looks and sounds like you had a lovely day. I for one would love to hang out with you some day, that would be so fun! And I’d definitely be disappointed in the lack of cinnamon drinks, festive drinks are my faves x

Awww that’s lovely!! And yes I’d love to meet you one day – it’s mad how we chat on here all the time and haven’t met IRL! Deffo needs to happen in 2019! ❤️❤️
I met 2 people through xbox online (yes i game lol) and we have been best friends for 10years now. I was maid of honour at their wedding and even at the birth of their third child. These two people have been my rock through some of the hatdest things i have ever had to go through. Its amazing how friendships start xxx
No way – you go girl gamer! 🙌🏻 and that’s so lovely, as much as technology can be a pain in the arse, it can make some lovely things happen! ❤️❤️
Hello there! I know this is kinda off topic but I was
wondering which blog platform are you using for this
website? I’m getting fed up of WordPress because I’ve had
issues with hackers and I’m looking at options for another platform.
I would be fantastic if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.
Hey, that’s alright! I’m using WordPress.org and host through Siteground now but did used to use WordPress.com which was a pain in the arse if you wanted to do anything jazzy with your site!I haven’t had any issues with hackers so I hope that helps!
I was just about to comment saying that my blog has bought me one of the best friends I’ve ever had then I saw that she commented a similar thing a few comments up, how cute 😭😂 Al and I will have to meet you at some point this year, it would be so lovely! And so surreal as we all have such different accents, haha!! I don’t have all that many friends but to be honest I’ve cut quite a lot of them out over the past 2 years as they just haven’t bothered with me whilst I’ve been ill, I don’t want people in my life that go “oh can’t wait to see you/we’ll do this when you’re better”, like yes that’d be nice but a lot of (not all) the time it’s people basically saying *I can’t be bothered to hang around with someone that has limitations*, which is so frustrating! I do have some really fabulous ones though that I treasure!
Alice Xx
Ahh you guys are adorable!! And yes, we can all laugh at each others accents whilst talking everything blogging, makeup and clothes – it’ll be heaven!!
I’m the same to be honest, I haven’t so much cut out than drifted away from people as I can’t really go out and about like normal people, but you’ll get there lovely ❤️❤️❤️
