The Fashion Faux Pas of Gabrielle An unconventional fashion blogger trying to find her place on the internet

The Re-launch of The Fashion Faux Pas Of Gabrielle

18/11/2018

It’s almost 3 years since I launched The Fashion Faux Pas of Gabrielle and I can’t quite believe that I’ve stuck with it after all of this time – I found an old blog of mine that I started in uni, wrote around six posts on and abandoned it (some of the posts were hilarious), so I’ve obviously hit the nail on the head this time around to want to stick with it.

Anyway, I’m sure you might have clicked on to today’s post and noticed that the site has had a bit of a refresh – I’ve finally moved away from hosting with WordPress.com to self-hosted with Siteground and I couldn’t be happier with the decision. I’m now able to start integrating features I wasn’t able to before and truly upping my game, which has really given me some motivation to make this an even better platform!

I’ve been wanting to make the transition for quite some time and did have a couple of hiccups during the process, which I wouldn’t have been able to sort out so quickly without the help from Emily at Blogerize.com – as I was on a Premium plan with WordPress, transferring my site was a bit of a mare, but she sorted it all with Siteground and made sure I had a beautiful site to share all of my content on.

What you can expect to see

  • A shiny new blog theme and layout
  • Carousel product features – something I’ve always admired on other blogs and haven’t been able to include on here before!
  • A new sign off – same wording, just different fonts and colours to fit with the new theme!
  • More chuckle-inducing, informative content about fashion, beauty and life – it wouldn’t be my blog without a fashion faux pas thrown in here and there now would it?

I want to give Emily from Blogerize.com a HUGE shout out for supporting me in the transition and their team for re-creating my beautiful blog to what it is today. I’d definitely recommend that you check them out if you’re thinking about starting your own blog or transitioning to self-hosted as I have- they’re a great bunch!

Let me know what you think of the new site in the comments below and whether there are any issues/small changes you think I can make to improve. In the meantime, I’m going to crack on with creating some new content to upload to this bad lad!

“This bad lad” favourite phrase you’ve ever used, ha! I’m loving the new site Gaby, it’s so much prettier and more professional. Am I right in thinking your header has slightly changed, too? Either way, it all looks brilliant! Self-hosted was definitely the best thing I did for my blog. I was super close to getting a plan with WordPress in the beginning but glad I didn’t as it does sound like a hassle! Site ground host my site too and they’ve been nothing but fab and my site hasn’t gone down ONCE since renewing with them like it did about 3 times a week with my last host – awfu!

I did change the header too – I much prefer it and feel like it’s a lot more slick now! I bloody wish I hadn’t gone with WordPress – I was on that plan for about 18 months and didn’t realise how expensive it was! And also love that phrase – I say it about everything IRL 😂😂❤️❤️

Do you mind if I quote a few of your posts as long as I provide credit and sources back to your weblog?
My blog site is in the very same niche as yours and my visitors would genuinely benefit from some of the
information you provide here. Please let me know if this alright with you.
    Thanks!

We’re now in the process of fixing it up and getting our bedroom ready to move in to, so hope we can get in next week! I’m going to be sharing the whole process on our Tiktok account which you can follow @thealbonrenovation - the first post on there is just a video showing the whole house as it was when we bought it on Friday (it’s changed a lot since then!) - so give us a follow it you love a bit of home renovation! 🥳🥳 #firsttimebuyers #newhouse
When the snow was beautiful and didn’t disappear When the snow was beautiful and didn’t disappear ❄️ what a week it’s been! I’ve been shivering away, heating on full blast and my dressing gown wrapped around me as I work this week - I love the look of snow but hate the cold! Had a day of hypochondria where I had a cough and was convinced it was Covid - but turns out my husband knows me best and that it wasn’t. And that’s probably the most exciting bit of news I l have for you all! How are you all doing?!
Hello all! I’m trying not to leave too much time Hello all! I’m trying not to leave too much time between posts as I have been in the last few months, so I think a couple of weeks is an improvement! On our way home from food shopping last week (highlight of the week!) we decided to stop by one of my favourite spots to take some outfit photos, where the majority of what I’m wearing is second hand (bag, jacket and jumper). I’m getting extremely stir crazy, but at the same time have turned into quite the hermit, I miss going out for lunch with Aaron, mooching around the charity shops and going out to do site visits for work - let’s hope this vaccine helps bring some normality!
And the final day of 2020 is upon us! I decided to And the final day of 2020 is upon us! I decided to make myself feel like I was going somewhere tonight by putting a full face of makeup on, with the intention of sitting on the sofa sharing a bottle of Disaronno with Aaron to see the new year in! We might hit up the kitchen, the living room and Aaron suggested the bathroom but I wasn’t sure 😂 what have you got planned for tonight? And Happy New Year to everyone!
And that’s Christmas over for another year (alth And that’s Christmas over for another year (although let’s be honest, 2020 may as well not have happened!) and I just hope to god 2021 is a damn site better for everyone! Since I’ve been attempting to cut out purchasing brand new clothing all together, bar a few items such as underwear and pyjamas, I’m hoping once Hertfordshire is out of Tier 4 that I can head to the shops and do some serious secondhand shopping and use the vouchers I got to buy myself some new beauty bits. How was your quiet Christmas and have you got any beauty recommendations for me? #hertsbloggers #fashionbloggeruk #ukfashionblogger #ukstyleblogger #hertsbloggerlove #sustainablefashionblogger #secondhandfashionblogger #petitebloggeruk #petitefashionbloggeruk #outfitinspo #mylookoftheday #ootdshare #ukfashionblog #petitestyle #hertfordshirebloggers #funkyfashion #ukfashion #ootdinspo #canon700d #canon #amatuerphotography #aspiringfashionblogger #aspiringblogger
