Okay, I know I’ve always been blonde, but I don’t think I’ve been BLONDE, blonde in the whole time I’ve had this blog. I mentioned in my Going for The Chop post that I was toying with the idea of going a bit blonder, so this probably isn’t much of a surprise. Back in the day I used to bleach my hair so much that it turned into a frizzy cotton wool like mess, but a few years back I reined it in and knew I needed to cut the shit if I wanted nice hair again.
HOWEVER, after growing it out, getting it chopped and in a much healthier condition than I’d ever had it before, I was mooching around the hair dye aisle in Tesco and decided to pick up a highlighting kit – I needed to be BLONDE Gaby again!
So I headed home, pulled my hair through the plastic cap (I don’t recommend if you have longer hair – it hurts like a bitch and always ends with tears in your eyes when you’ve pulled too much hair through one of the holes, asking yourself “WHY DO I DO THESE THINGS TO MYSELF?!”), slathered the hair pulled through the cap with coconut oil to protect it and slapped on that bleach like no time had passed at all.
And for all my internet friends, here is old school Gaby;
It might sound mad, but my hair is my identity and as much as I loved having an ombre look and a darker blonde; I’m all about that bright Legally Blonde colour and feel like I did all those years ago (minus the burnt hair).
A short and sweet post for today, but I thought it was important that I share this with you (like I do all major hair, beauty and fashion events in my life).
Let me know what you think in the comments below and if you’d like a more detailed post on how I will be looking after my lighter hair!

I LOVE blonde Gaby! Your hair looks really super lovely and I’m loving it a bit shorter too. I’ve started to grown mine out currently as it’s quite literally snapping off and coming out in clumps – I think it’s more due to my medication and how horrendous my health condition is rather than anything else but I can’t add bleach to the mix too if I want any hair left!! I’d love to know how you’re going to look after it as I’m always needing hair care tips and recommendations from fellow blondies!

Ahh thanks lovely – it’s much more me now! I’d recommend putting some coconut oil on your hair before you put anymore bleach on it – mine felt and looked so much nicer than when I used to do it! And hope you’re feeling alright (I’m not going to say okay as I know you’re having a really shit time with your health) and roll on your surgery date – want you to feel as good as possible with loads of hair!! xxxx
Ah Gaby I absolutely love it! It looks amazing and really suits you!xo

I’m really feeling the blonde on you! I could never pull off blonde hair but you do it amazingly. You did such a good job doing it on yourself as well! Definitely getting serious Elle Wood vibes. It looks so lovely a bit shorter as well, suits you so well x
