The Fashion Faux Pas of Gabrielle An unconventional fashion blogger trying to find her place on the internet

Some new wardrobe additions!

27/06/2018

To contradict my last post about being a recovering shopaholic, I thought I’d fess up to the fact that I’ve done some shopping and picked up a few new bits which I’m loving at the moment!

Kate Spade Cameron Street Jenson Bag

First up is a new bag which I briefly discussed in my post about our time at Kuta Beach, there was a Kate Spade ♠️ store in the Kuta Beachwalk shopping centre (definitely have a wander in there if you’re in the neighbourhood – amazing shopping!) that I’d clocked and wanted to visit before the news broke about Kate’s unfortunate passing. Although she sold the business a few years back, I really felt like I needed to go into the store and appreciate the amazing brand she had established – not with the intention of buying anything, but that soon changed!

The bag caught my eye straight away and reminded me of a similar coloured, deep plum bag I bought from Topshop a couple of years which I’d revamped after the faux leather strap on it had started to fall apart. So to up my handbag game (and ever growing collection of designer bags) I was drawn to this like a moth to a buzzing lightbulb.
It was on offer and had 50% off so worked out to be about £177 and as I stood there pondering, Aaron made my decision a lot easier when he offered to go halves with me. How could I not?! I’ve inserted a link above, but unfortunately I couldn’t find this colour on the U.K website.

Brave Soul Blue Paisley Print Skirt – £8 ASOS

This beautiful skirt has already had a load of compliments on Instagram, so it’s only fair I share the deets!
This was a spur of the moment purchase from ASOS – as the weather is absolutely glorious in the U.K. at the moment, I was mooching around for some bits I could wear that wouldn’t make me feel like I’m boiling alive. And at just £8, how could I not?!
I bought it in a XS as I’ve dropped a bit of weight from all the walking we did in Bali (my body was wondering wtf was going on 😂) and I was a bit dubious as to whether it would fit, so was happy when I yanked it up and the zip went up without a hitch!

Light Grey Fine Knit Cardigan – £10 ASOS

I just really liked this – I don’t have an excuse for buying it other than I liked it and thought it would look great with the skirt 😂
But it’s a beautiful cardigan which is perfect for draping over your shoulders when there’s a bit of breeze or chill in the summer mornings.

Boohoo White Scoop Neck Vest – £4 ASOS

I think we can all agree that if you have a tan, you need something bright white to show it off! I also thought this would look perfect with the other two things I picked up so… and I don’t know about you, but I’m always in need of some new basics – especially white things as I have a knack for making them go grey in the wash 😉

And that’s it! Well… for now 😉 I’m hoping to do another discount fashion shopping haul so drop me any companies you’d like me to review for the series in the comments below!
Until Next Time

The skirt is soo cute and looks perfect on you! I am such a sucker for the interior of that bag too, I’m loving monochrome stripes at the moment. I must’ve bought so many striped tops in the past month or so, it’s a problem… I’ve never owned a really nice handbag so I really want to invest in one soon that I can wear for years! I always tend to just get cheapy ones that’ll last me a few months wear till I have to replace it with another £7 one from Primark…

Ahh thank you lovely!! As a starter bag, I’d deffo recommend something like Kate Spade, Ted Baker or Michael Kors – they’re really well made and will outlast loads of cheaper bags from the high street! Cost per wear is my fave motto when it comes to designer 😂😂 xxx

Ahhh I was so hoping after reading your previous post that you would post some pictures of the Kate Spade bag you mentioned! It’s just as gorgeous as I imagined it would be – burgundy is one of my favourite colours, I adore it so much. I love that skirt, it suits you so well! Such a perfect Summer piece. And that Boohoo top is a bargain, I might have to order a few myself x

I decided to make myself feel like I was going somewhere tonight by putting a full face of makeup on, with the intention of sitting on the sofa sharing a bottle of Disaronno with Aaron to see the new year in! We might hit up the kitchen, the living room and Aaron suggested the bathroom but I wasn’t sure 😂 what have you got planned for tonight? And Happy New Year to everyone!
And that’s Christmas over for another year (alth And that’s Christmas over for another year (although let’s be honest, 2020 may as well not have happened!) and I just hope to god 2021 is a damn site better for everyone! Since I’ve been attempting to cut out purchasing brand new clothing all together, bar a few items such as underwear and pyjamas, I’m hoping once Hertfordshire is out of Tier 4 that I can head to the shops and do some serious secondhand shopping and use the vouchers I got to buy myself some new beauty bits. How was your quiet Christmas and have you got any beauty recommendations for me? #hertsbloggers #fashionbloggeruk #ukfashionblogger #ukstyleblogger #hertsbloggerlove #sustainablefashionblogger #secondhandfashionblogger #petitebloggeruk #petitefashionbloggeruk #outfitinspo #mylookoftheday #ootdshare #ukfashionblog #petitestyle #hertfordshirebloggers #funkyfashion #ukfashion #ootdinspo #canon700d #canon #amatuerphotography #aspiringfashionblogger #aspiringblogger
Hello strangers! Thought I should pop on here and Hello strangers! Thought I should pop on here and let you all know I haven’t forgotten about this online world, I’ve just needed some time to myself after almost 5 years of continuous life sharing! I also haven’t been heading off anywhere glam or buying much to share on here, so today’s snap is a bit of a throw back to just before the first lockdown when I found this gorgeous wool blazer in @british_heart_foundation from @poloralphlauren 🥰 how are you all and have you managed to find any bargain secondhand finds?! ♻️🌿
I’ll be honest and say that I’ve completely go I’ll be honest and say that I’ve completely gone off of Instagram over the last few months and popped on here this morning for the first time in weeks to see if I could get back into the swing again. To be honest I’ve been so busy with work most days, that when it comes to having some free time all I want to do is slob out, watch something on the telly and do nothing - I spend most of my life on my laptop or work phone, that the last thing I want to do when I’m finished is churn out more content. But I’ve come to realise that’s okay - I don’t need to let my social media dictate how I live my life, or feel bad about the fact that I don’t have certain things, can’t go certain places or live a certain life - because social media (and especially Instagram), is where people showcase their best selves and not necessarily what’s going on off screen. I realised a while ago that jealousy isn’t going to get me anywhere; I might look at someone online and envy their life, but should be thankful (and am!) for the life that I’ve already got - there’s always going to be someone worse off and everyone has different goals or ideals in life, so there’s no use in getting bogged down when I can’t afford to go certain places, have certain things, when I’ll get where I need to be in my own time. I just need to carry on doing my own thing and not let the Instagram envy get me down ❤️
{GIFTED} Thank you so much to @kaolin.kiln for sen {GIFTED} Thank you so much to @kaolin.kiln for sending me these gorgeous earrings from her Etsy store - everything is zero waste and all packaging is 100% recyclable! I hope you’re all enjoying the gorgeous sunshine and making sure your skin is well protected from the sun - you don’t want to end up tossing and turning because you got burnt and turned into a radiator in a day! We went food shopping and out to the in-laws for our weekly Sunday roast, so I’m now spending the afternoon keeping as cool as I can in the flat, readying myself for another week of work in the heat!

I’ve spent most of the weekend holed up at home, sweating my tits off and binge watching Empire, but it was nice to leave the flat to do some food shopping and have a Sunday roast with the in-laws! On the way home we stopped at a field near home to take some photos for today’s post and it was fun to try out a new location, rocking my #secondhanddress I picked up from @scopecharity last weekend!
Finally managed to grab a few photos this afternoo Finally managed to grab a few photos this afternoon and was so excited to share this #secondhand dress I picked up from a vintage shop in Hitchin yesterday, along with a load of other bits from various charity shops! We luckily managed to miss the rain both today and yesterday, so got to enjoy some sunshine for a little while! What have you been up to this weekend and have you managed to hit the shops since they introduced the mandatory face masks in shops?
