The Fashion Faux Pas of Gabrielle An unconventional fashion blogger trying to find her place on the internet

Life

Dedicated to the greatest Dad in the world

18/06/2018

Okay, I’m aware this post is a day after Father’s Day, but I’m trying to get back to my regular Monday, Wednesday, Friday posting schedule and really wanted to put this post together after we received the rest of our wedding photos which had some lovely shots with my amazing Dad.
I’ve written a post about who influenced my love of clothes, which *SPOILER ALERT* was my Dad, it touches on my relationship with him and how he was an unknown inspiration for me and my love of all things fashion. He has had a lot of ups and downs over the years, but is finally finding his own happiness which makes me so proud and happy for him.

I’ve always been a Daddy’s girl and know I always will be – I’m the only child out of me, my sister and two step-brothers that gives him and my step-Mum Fran the least grief, so it’s a given I’m the fave 😉
My Dad is always the life and soul of a party and knows EVERYONE, I can’t remember a time where we’ve popped out together and not had to stop to chat or say hello to someone he knows – he’s full of banter, typical bad dad jokes and will always tell each and every one of us that he loves us (in English and a bit of Italian since he met Fran and decided he was Italian at heart – he’s always gone through language phases which has included Polish in the past and always make George and I cringe 🙄😂).

He’s always had a good sense of his personal style – I wouldn’t say good as there have been some VERY questionable outfit combos over the years, but he’s always loved to stand out from the crowd. Usually donning a hat, which I’m sure you can see from the pictures on my wedding day, he rocked pretty well (I sent a text to the vicar to say thank you after the wedding and he said that the bell ringers all wanted to know who the man rocking the bowler hat was lol!)

I’ve always felt loved by my Dad and know he’s one of the proudest Dad’s you’ll ever meet – he was over the moon that Aaron and I were getting married and was so happy that I’d be marrying “the lovely lad” (Dad and Fran don’t ever call him Aaron anymore – they love a nickname and I guess the lovely lad is an upgrade from Noraa, which is Aaron spelt backwards lol).
So here’s a post dedicated to my Dad who is one of my biggest champions, is always cheering me on and is quite frankly, the best Dad in the world – love you Dad and happy Father’s Day ❤️❤️❤️

Until Next Time

This is so, so sweet Gaby and it sounds like you have such a bloody wonderful relationship with your Dad 💕 having that with a parent is so special and something I never take for granted as I know so many people long for it! The bowler hat is FAB by the way and I love anyone with an individual style hehe!

I decided to make myself feel like I was going somewhere tonight by putting a full face of makeup on, with the intention of sitting on the sofa sharing a bottle of Disaronno with Aaron to see the new year in! We might hit up the kitchen, the living room and Aaron suggested the bathroom but I wasn’t sure 😂 what have you got planned for tonight? And Happy New Year to everyone!
And that’s Christmas over for another year (alth And that’s Christmas over for another year (although let’s be honest, 2020 may as well not have happened!) and I just hope to god 2021 is a damn site better for everyone! Since I’ve been attempting to cut out purchasing brand new clothing all together, bar a few items such as underwear and pyjamas, I’m hoping once Hertfordshire is out of Tier 4 that I can head to the shops and do some serious secondhand shopping and use the vouchers I got to buy myself some new beauty bits. How was your quiet Christmas and have you got any beauty recommendations for me? #hertsbloggers #fashionbloggeruk #ukfashionblogger #ukstyleblogger #hertsbloggerlove #sustainablefashionblogger #secondhandfashionblogger #petitebloggeruk #petitefashionbloggeruk #outfitinspo #mylookoftheday #ootdshare #ukfashionblog #petitestyle #hertfordshirebloggers #funkyfashion #ukfashion #ootdinspo #canon700d #canon #amatuerphotography #aspiringfashionblogger #aspiringblogger
Hello strangers! Thought I should pop on here and Hello strangers! Thought I should pop on here and let you all know I haven’t forgotten about this online world, I’ve just needed some time to myself after almost 5 years of continuous life sharing! I also haven’t been heading off anywhere glam or buying much to share on here, so today’s snap is a bit of a throw back to just before the first lockdown when I found this gorgeous wool blazer in @british_heart_foundation from @poloralphlauren 🥰 how are you all and have you managed to find any bargain secondhand finds?! ♻️🌿
I’ll be honest and say that I’ve completely go I’ll be honest and say that I’ve completely gone off of Instagram over the last few months and popped on here this morning for the first time in weeks to see if I could get back into the swing again. To be honest I’ve been so busy with work most days, that when it comes to having some free time all I want to do is slob out, watch something on the telly and do nothing - I spend most of my life on my laptop or work phone, that the last thing I want to do when I’m finished is churn out more content. But I’ve come to realise that’s okay - I don’t need to let my social media dictate how I live my life, or feel bad about the fact that I don’t have certain things, can’t go certain places or live a certain life - because social media (and especially Instagram), is where people showcase their best selves and not necessarily what’s going on off screen. I realised a while ago that jealousy isn’t going to get me anywhere; I might look at someone online and envy their life, but should be thankful (and am!) for the life that I’ve already got - there’s always going to be someone worse off and everyone has different goals or ideals in life, so there’s no use in getting bogged down when I can’t afford to go certain places, have certain things, when I’ll get where I need to be in my own time. I just need to carry on doing my own thing and not let the Instagram envy get me down ❤️
{GIFTED} Thank you so much to @kaolin.kiln for sen {GIFTED} Thank you so much to @kaolin.kiln for sending me these gorgeous earrings from her Etsy store - everything is zero waste and all packaging is 100% recyclable! I hope you’re all enjoying the gorgeous sunshine and making sure your skin is well protected from the sun - you don’t want to end up tossing and turning because you got burnt and turned into a radiator in a day! We went food shopping and out to the in-laws for our weekly Sunday roast, so I’m now spending the afternoon keeping as cool as I can in the flat, readying myself for another week of work in the heat!

I’ve spent most of the weekend holed up at home, sweating my tits off and binge watching Empire, but it was nice to leave the flat to do some food shopping and have a Sunday roast with the in-laws! On the way home we stopped at a field near home to take some photos for today’s post and it was fun to try out a new location, rocking my #secondhanddress I picked up from @scopecharity last weekend!
Finally managed to grab a few photos this afternoo Finally managed to grab a few photos this afternoon and was so excited to share this #secondhand dress I picked up from a vintage shop in Hitchin yesterday, along with a load of other bits from various charity shops! We luckily managed to miss the rain both today and yesterday, so got to enjoy some sunshine for a little while! What have you been up to this weekend and have you managed to hit the shops since they introduced the mandatory face masks in shops?
