[…] been a few days since my post about everything being cropped and we’ve already established how difficult it was to find tops that weren’t cropped on […]

I don’t know if it’s because I’m that little bit older or if I’m just not “down with the kids” (lol – I’ve only just turned twenty-six) – but when did all tops become cropped?!
I don’t mind a little bit of crop every now and then, I mean my Dad and Step-Mum Fran bought me this cute little cropped jumper for my birthday last week;
But it was only when I was having a mooch on the Pretty Little Thing app (I’ve got a review coming up shortly so stay tuned!) that I realised that cropped EVERYTHING is in and has been for quite some time.
I guess it kind of goes back to an older post I did on Clothing Without a Purpose, because cropping tops doesn’t always have a purpose; you’re cold, you have to make sure you haven’t eaten an extra helping of that leftover spaghetti bolegnaise as it’ll deffo show and we all feel like we need to have a “snatch” figure to show off. Not that I’m worried about my body shape or any excess weight (bless the high metabolism gods), I’m just not comfortable showing my gut to everyone – it’s not very me.
I was scrolling through the app trying to find some bits to add into my basket and I just got SO frustrated at the lack of tops that weren’t cropped! Is that weird? Am I strange for not wanting to partake in the trend?! LOOK AT ALL OF THE CROPPED OPTIONS 😂
After this, I got straight onto writing this post and just after finishing the above, headed on over to my beloved ASOS – surely they hadn’t succumbed to the cropped mayhem that was going on over at Pretty Little Thing?
Well, for the most part it’s a no, but they did have a LOT of cropped tops in the sale. Side note: am I alone in sorting sale items by order of price, lowest to highest because I’m always after a bargain?
I’m kind of wondering if that’s why I’m noticing this more right now – cropped means less fabric, so surely that means a lower price?! OR a lower price reflects an opinion from my fellow shoppers that also don’t want to bare their midriff? Food for thought.
For the purpose of this post, I went back through all of my old photos on Facebook and Instagram to see whether there had been a time that I wore a cropped top, only to find one picture, where you can’t see that it’s cropped, but I know it is. I don’t think I’ve ever really liked them much!
Anyway, there’s a random thought for you all today, make sure to stay tuned for some bits I picked up from Pretty Little Thing (which didn’t include anything cropped 😉)
Let me know whether your a lover or hater of cropped everything in the comments below!

Haha! Love this post. It’s so true, everything seems to be cropped.
I saw a girl no older than 9 the other day wearing one shopping…Maybe we’re just getting old Gabs! aha xx
No bloody way!!! What has the world come to?!! 😂😂 hahah thanks Meg 😘❤️❤️
I hate the crop top fashion. I think it makes some girls look more overweight and then they become self conscious
Ahh I know and they’re really not!!
It’s so frustrating that most tops/jackets and jumpers these days are cropped. I’ve never seen the point of them and the thought of having my pot belly hanging out for everyone to see makes me feel a little bit sick!
Ahh same!! I don’t think I have one usually, but stick me in a crop *anything* and I do 😂❤️
I actually really like cropped tops BUT only because I also love high waisted things!! If someone wants to get their belly out then go ahead and do your thing but I’m personally not about that life. I am however the biggest sucker in the world for a pair of high waisted jeans or a high waisted skirt, more because they are SO much more flattering on me as I have wide hips and a smaller waist so normal jeans make me look like a bit of heffalump LOL. But I can see how it’d be super annoying for people who only want to wear normal jeans!

Yes – that’s the only time I’ll rock one, I can’t bear thinking of getting my gut out if I wanted to wear normal rise jeans! Far too chilly!! 😂❤️
I can’t really stand cropped stuff either! I have a few bits in my wardrobe that I’ll wear with high waisted jeans because then my belly isn’t showing and obviously I have cropped tops for holidays (again to wear with anything high waisted), but apart from that I don’t actively buy them – so I feel ya Gaby!!xo

Right?!! That’s the only time I’ll wear anything cropped too! Glad I’ve got some support on this one 😂❤️
I used to hate cropped items, it would frustrate me as everything ended up being cropped. But I’m slowly learning to like it seeing as it is forced upon us as everything is getting cropped ahah x

I know what you mean 😂😂 I’ll wear some if I’m wearing something high waisted, but won’t bother if my gut’s out to say hello 😂❤️
To be honest, I wish I had the figure for cropped stuff! I’d live in them if I had a banging bod, especially in the Summer as I can imagine it’s a lot cooler. I do love the look of them with high waisted things – the one thing I don’t get at all is cropped jumpers! A jumper is meant to keep you warm, not expose half of your body haha x

RIGHT?!! 😂😂 I don’t know what I’d be like if I had a proper banging bod (not saying I’m podgy, but deffo not toned in the slightest!) but I don’t mind a bit of crop with something high waisted! Xx
RIGHT! I’m getting so annoyed this year, can’t find anything to wear to work. Don’t know where to shop anymore. Everything is cropped and suited for someone who is 18-22 years of age. WTF. Hello late 20’s and early 30s where the F do i shop?
Hahahah so glad someone else agrees!! 😂😂
I’m in the same boat and it’s driving me CRAZY. I don’t have even have a bad figure but it’s like…I behind on my shopping but I waited until now (Fall) to get an idea of what I wanted…and STILL haven’t found it. I always wondered was it just me until I questioned Google and found this thread. I feel so much better that I’m not the only 1. Might have something to do with it being cheaper/less fabric but I’ll pay for what I want..when I see it
Ahh right?! We don’t all want cold kidneys! I also love that you Googled the same thing – whenever I’m thinking something similar to that, I type it into Google, see if I can find someone else that understands me and if not, I write my own post about it 😂 glad you found it!
