Wedding Makeup Trial

25/04/2018

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have already seen a snap I shared from my wedding makeup trial on Saturday morning. I wanted to write a post about it as I’ve been sharing most of my wedding planning experience and I wanted to give Lauren a HUGE shout out for making me feel and look beautiful.

We’ve already established I’ve never been that great at makeup, but have been getting better over the last few months. With it being my wedding day, I didn’t want to leave the makeup to my untrustworthy skills and every bride deserves a pamper right?!
Lauren and I worked together at Morrisons a few years back and she has always been a huge supporter of my blog (she regularly sends me tips on the best places to buy great brushes 😊) – so when it came to finding someone to do my makeup for the day, I knew I had to ask her!
I sent her a few looks I’d pinned to my wedding makeup board on Pinterest beforehand and attempted to help her know what shade of foundation I wear (I’ve only found one from Kat Von D that’s a proper colour match, so I wasn’t massively helpful other than giving her the shade number 😂). I wanted to have something that wasn’t too full on, but also not like I hadn’t made an effort – it’s one of the biggest days of your life and I didn’t want to roll up to the church looking like I do everyday, so a natural glam was the look I wanted to go for.

I was so excited to see what she’d brought along with her and wasn’t disappointed when she opened her box of wonders!

We set up in my bedroom which has the best lighting in the flat during the mornings (hence why my morning OOTD shots are always in there) and I propped myself on the edge of the bed, away from the mirror so I could have a nice surprise at the end! I was loving having a mooch through her palettes and all of the ones I wanted to add to my collection (I definitely need some Morphe palettes in my life).
We had a great catch up, chatting about our days at Morrisons and how she’d get told off about her makeup on the checkouts (she’s always been great at it!) as she swatched, dusted and got to work.

I was OVER THE MOON with the final look; I’m going to be wearing some lashes on the day, but my L’Oréal Paradise mascara (100% recommend!) finished off the look perfectly!
I managed to make a mental note of most of the products she used and have listed them below (with links of course!) if you wanted to know what I’m wearing;

Anastasia Beverley Hills DipBrow Pomade

Eyes

Morphe 35P 35 Colour Plum Palette
Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette
L’Oréal Paradise Mascara

Face

Mac Studio Fix Fluid Foundation
Kat Von D Shade + Light Contour Palette
Jeffree Star Skin Frost Pro Palette 24 Karat

Lips

Jefree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick Family Collection in Nathan
Thank you to Lauren from Lauren Lucy Beauty for making me feel so comfortable about how I’m going to look on our big day – and hopefully stop the makeup related wedding nightmares I’ve been having 😂
Make sure to check her out on Instagram and Facebook – she’s bloody amazing and I’d recommend her to follow for some amazing makeup inspiration or if you’re local in North Hertfordshire for a lovely makeover experience!

Stay tuned for some more wedding related content – it’s about a month away now so it was inevitable 😉
