It’s been a few days since my post about everything being cropped and we’ve already established how difficult it was to find tops that weren’t cropped on their website – no joke it’s a sea of skin showing everywhere, but I stuck with it and thought Pretty Little Thing would be a good place to pick up a couple of bits for our honeymoon (6 weeks tomorrow, not that I’m counting 😉).
Believe it or not, this is the first time I’ve ever ordered through them and have heard mixed views on the quality of their clothes, so decided they were next on the hit list for this review series (which has been going for almost a year – INSANE!)
As always, I’ve given an overview of first impressions from using the website/app below and took a screenshot of my order;
✅ Great prices (all items selected were in the sale, but they’re pretty reasonably priced anyway)
✅ Paypal as a payment option – I’d have been VERY surprised if this wasn’t available for a pretty big site like this
✅ Various shopping options available – I went with U.K. Saver, ordered on the Tuesday and it arrived by the Thursday
❌ Not a lot available in the top section that wasn’t cropped
What Arrived
Straight up, I was PISSED OFF at Hermes who unfortunately delivered and threw my parcel over the fence of our communal washing line area, in the mud, leaves, moss and rain.
So it’s a thumbs down for their choice in courier – also noticed ASOS have been using them and I cant say I’m impressed.
Also, I must acknowledge the stray SOLD sign, the amount of leaves, moss etc. and all I have to say is… Council Estate life. If you live on one, you’ll understand.
Slinky Wrap Playsuit
I liked this when I pulled it out of the bag, but it was only when I went back to writing this post that I noticed it was different to the one I’d ordered! The colour is the same, but the one that arrived had sleeves and no frills running down the cross-over. A little bit annoying, but I do like what arrived – it’s very slinky and would look amazing with a tan (I ordered with our honeymoon in mind, where I’ll 100% be sunning myself into a bronzed goddess).I’m going to keep this one as I think it’ll be nice for an evening out for dinner on holiday, although I don’t think I’d wear it in England – it’s a tiny bit too short for my liking!
Deep Berry Long Plungeline Top
I really liked this top when I took it out of the bag, I was imagining it on top of a long sleeved top for work with some skinny black jeans or on its own (with trousers of course) for a night out. However, when I got to trying it on, I wasn’t massively impressed with the fit – it sat in a strange place on the boob area, sagged at the side so you could see some side boob and worst of all, it had a tear in the side seam 😩. So it looked nice on the model, just not on me!
Chequered Mesh Insert Leggings
Okay, I unknowingly ordered TWO pairs of these and not gunna lie, I was pissed off at myself because of how thin, cheap and saggy they looked when I took them out of the bag. I was all kinds of confused when I pulled out two pairs, looked at the order slip in the bag, saw there were two marked on there, went to my order confirmation where you guessed it; I’d ordered two. And finally to rub it in my face a little bit more, I saw the pissing screenshot I put in here that said the same.
Anyway, my lack of awareness when it comes to ordering aside, here’s what they looked like on;
They were AWFUL! They sagged everywhere, were see through, clung to all of my lumps and bumps, just making me look like crap!
I showed Aaron the pictures after and he was cracking up at the crotch close up 😂
Needless to say; these are being returned.
Rose High Neck Frill Sleeve Dress
This was my fave out of the bunch when I pulled it out of the bag, but I’ve gotta say it’s quite short; so if you’re not all about getting your pins out, then this isn’t for you.
It’s also VERY see-through and not very flattering if you’re not a flat bellied Instagram model. You can almost see me digesting my Sunday roast dinner 😉.
No joke, I never worry about my shape, weight or size, but I started to after putting this on. However, I really like the design, so will be keeping it for holiday when I haven’t eaten anything (so more than likely it will remain in my suitcase).
Verdict
I’m not going to lie, I won’t be shopping with them again – the quality of the clothing was crap, fabric was cheap, ill-fitting, clingy and saggy (all at the same time)! They also got one of my orders wrong; so I can’t say I was impressed!
I think if you’ve got a body carved like a god, you could get away with wearing some of this, but even a little bit of curve doesn’t look good (I’ve got quite a slender figure and some of these bits would have you thinking I didn’t!) – it also doesn’t help that the fabric is cheap as it makes all of the difference!
Let me know in the comments below if you’ve shopped with PLT before and whether you’ve had some winners, I on the other hand will be returning some of this shit 😉

Very nice.
I am so surprised by this as everything I’ve ordered from PLT has been pretty good! It’s such a shame as from the order page, those clothes had a lot of potential but the quality and fit clearly ruins them 😬 I’ll definitely be more wary with what I’m ordering from them in the future!

Ahh I know!! I’ve seen so many hit and miss posts/videos so thought I’d give it a go! And I couldn’t get over the fit 😂😂 xx
My sister has had quite a few problems with Pretty Little Thing too, so I haven’t ordered from them yet and I don’t think I ever will to be honest! Also, Hermes are absolute crap – I can’t believe they’re still going?!
I know right?! I’ve had a nightmare with them over the last few weeks – tweeted them and nothing in response!!
I love the realness of your posts Gabs!
Always so relatable and funny!
Haha thanks Meg – glad it’s coming across how I want it to! ❤️
I do find that the quality with PLT is so hit and miss, I’ve had some lovely items from them but I’ve also sent a lot of stuff back because the quality just isn’t great and a lot of things tend to be see-through. Couldn’t help but laugh at those leggings! They definitely got the fit all wrong with those. I honestly loved that red top on you until I read about the side boob problem and the rip! That playsuit is honestly gorgeous, and I agree it will be perfect on your honeymoon with a tan. I love the sleeves on the last dress, it’s a shame the quality isn’t a bit better! x

Ahh I know – just got my refund through the other day and they were pretty quick about it which is good! And I was laughing so much at the leggings, I walked into the living room to show Aaron and we were cracking up 😂😂 xx
