[…] It’s been a while since we had one of these hasn’t it?! Lol, just kidding, I only did one on Black Betty last week. […]

I’m on a discount fashion shopping spree right now and decided to head on over to our great friend Google to see some new stores I could try out for this shopping review series.
I stumbled across a couple of places which were slightly out of budget for what I was aiming for with this series *cough* The Outnet *cough* before finally settling on a site called BlackBetty. Similar to Everything Five Pounds (make sure to check out my review on their shoes here) they snap up some of the old stock from high street retailers, selling it on for up to 90% off the original price.
First impressions from using the site – everything that I clicked on had a limited supply of sizes, predominantly sizes six and eight. They also didn’t have a huge range of products available – only four items in the accessories section and twenty-seven types of shoe. In comparison to Everything Five Pounds they lose in terms of price and variety.
I’ll be honest, I’m not entirely sure when I ordered this and pinning down the delivery time was difficult as I let it sit in the Post Office for almost a week before I finally got round to picking it up lol. It wasn’t super-fast ASOS style, but didn’t take forever and an age to arrive.
So what arrived?!
I was actually pleasantly surprised when I opened my order! The quality of the clothes was amazing in comparison to some of the discount stores I’ve shopped with before and they did indeed look like the product on the website!
My only bugbear was with the was sizing and I’ll talk about each item – what I liked and what it was that I wasn’t keen on;
I ordered the jumper in a large – I love how it fits but I wouldn’t call it “large”. On the plus side, I’m obsessed with the slogan “SRSLY?!” and love the fine knit which I could be rocking into spring, although it’s “large” I love how well it fits me and will definitely be getting a lot of wear out of it. I reeeallly wanted to wear it into work, but feel the slogan probably isn’t appropriate office attire 😉 I can’t be chatting to my colleagues with a slogan like that on it can I?!
The fit of the trousers on my calves was a bit saggy. It may well be that I’ve got some strange proportioning leg wise, but I’m going to be taking them in so they’re more skinny fitting. I’ll also have to take the hems up, but that’s not an issue for me (kind of inevitable when you’re as short as I am 😉). A positive is how well made they are, the material is very durable and they look expensive AF – that’s what I’m looking for fellow bargain hunters!
The dress was also on the larger size, I ordered a small and it’s a bit baggy on me – (nothing I can’t alter but still annoying) which was a bit disappointing, but as it was so well made, I won’t moan too much! The style is stunning and I am obsessed with the colour – this will look gorgeous with some cute white sandals in the summer for a day in the office (not a standard day as our dress code is smart/casj, but if we’ve got visitors or I’m going somewhere fancy – or not, I’ve been known to rock some smarter looks despite our dress code being more relaxed in recent years).
Verdict
✅ Price
✅ Easy to navigate the site
✅ Very good quality clothing
❌ Limited in their sizing range
❌ Limited variety of stock
❌ No other shipping options than “standard delivery”
I loved the items I got and would definitely go for a mooch on their site again – it wouldn’t be my go-to place as their selection of styles and sizes is quite limited, but I’d recommend if you’re at a loss for something to wear with a small budget, they’ve got some great quality clothing for very low prices! If you’re larger than a size 8-10, I don’t think they’ll have much available for you which is a shame – but hopefully they read this and take it on board!

Wow i am surprised at how awesome everything looks.
I was really surprised too!
You rock everything here, especially loving the colour and style of the dress on you! I’ve never actually heard of this site before but I’m definitely familiar with everything 5 pounds which I still haven’t braved ordering anything from as I’m so worried the clothes will turn up the quality of paper haha! I love these reviews of yours, have you tried Romwe before? I was nosing on their site last night and want to order but I’m skeptical!
