How to feel like a bad ass bitch

08/01/2018

I’ll admit, if I’m wearing the right clothes or accessories – I feel like a bad ass bitch. I feel like I could go and dominate the world and look like the coolest person you’ve ever seen in your life, flicking my hair at the haters that walk by, sunglasses propped at the ends of their noses wondering “how is this girl so pumped when her hair is so wild, yet greasy?” Jk I don’t have haters staring at me – I’m actually quite friendly šŸ˜‰
bad ass bitch
Well my friends, you simply find something that you feel emanates the utmost swag and you wear that with pride. I could sit here and tell you about all the things I think you should have in your wardrobe, how you should wear it and everything most other fashion blogs will tell you to do, but we all know I’m prone to fashion faux pas’ (hell – that’s the name of this blog!) but the main thing that makes you feel like a fly as fuck, sassy queen is what YOU think looks cool/ edgy/ *insert some young people lingo for the last two words that I don’t know about here*
I’ve personally got a lot of favourites when it comes to wanting to feel sassy, so here’s a list of my go-to’s for doing that;
Doc Marten boots
I’ve had these black boots for over a year and love them with all of my heart. I featured them in an older post similar to this called Stuff That Makes Me Feel Cool and they’ve remained a staple for me throughout all of the seasons. I can’t explain it, but wearing them makes me feel like the baddest bitch you’ve ever met.

Sunglasses
My staple shades are obviously my Ray Ban Clubmasters – I love them because they instantly make me look stylish as soon as they’re propped on top of my nose. These have remained a staple accessory for me and have been worn hundreds of times over the last couple of years! Find some shades that make you feel sassy – no matter what they look like.A great fitting pair of jeansĀ
My personal favourites are from Topshop (I recently wrote about being a Topshop addict and shared everything I have that’s from Topshop in my wardrobe, you can check it out here) and fit me perfectly. With so many different sizes on the high street, you’ll need to shop around before finding the perfect pair for you depending on your shape or your preferences. I personally love my ripped skinny jeans and love how the older generations ask me whether my rips are intentional – yes they are and no I won’t buy another pair without holes in.ripped jeans meme
Find some jeans which are your perfect match whether that’s skinny, boot cut, straight leg, flared, mom fit, boyfriend fit – whatever!

A well made coat or biker jacket
I personally love a good, quality made jacket or coat – they’re items which can make or break an outfit – you could have the sassiest outfit on and ruin it with a crappy coat, so it’s definitely one of the things I make sure to nail when I head out of the house for whatever it is I’m doing that day. I think I’m a bit of a rocker chic (style wise) at heart and love having some chunky stuff to put with floaty, feminine pieces of clothing.
A staple handbag
I love me a handbag and if the bag I’m wearing is shit, I’ll feel like shit. I’m currently donning my bargain Michael Kors bag (check out a full overview of the greatest bargain of 2017 here) and will often wear a bag to death until it’s held together by a mere thread if I love it that much – though by the the time this happens, the love has always gone and I’ve moved onto something better. I personally love a well structured bag, which has enough room for everything bar the kitchen sink, while remaining positively stylish.
A positive view of myselfĀ
This last point is such a hard one to achieve – I have my days where I look like someone dipped my face in a pan of oil and poked at it until spots appeared, or my hair is greasy AF, my clothes don’t seem to go together the way I planned – but having one of the above things helps me skip past some of these everyday thoughts and channel positive energy, making me feel like the bad ass bitch I know I am.

I know it’s hard to not think about what others think – but wear things you feel comfortable in, channel who you are and go get em šŸ˜‰

Yasss I love all these things, I also love a good stylish bag that you can fit everything in, I love bringing everything I own out with me, haha! I have some chunky gothic boots that make me feel like a queen, especially when I pair them with fishnets! And a dark red/purple lippy with a leather jacket makes me feel badass too šŸ™‚

I absolutely love the outfit you’re wearing with the grey coat and mustard hat – you look bomb!! I’m really getting into my coats recently and I totally agree with you, they can certainly make or break an outfit xo

I love this post so much! It’s so true that sometimes little things can make a whole lot of difference towards how you feel in yourself. For me, if I’m wearing red lipstick it boosts my confidence so much, or if I take the time to curl my hair x

Superb blog! Do you have any tips for aspiring
writers? I’m planning to start my own blog soon but I’m a
little lost on everything. Would you recommend starting with a free platform like WordPress or go
for a paid option? There are so many options out there that
I’m totally confused .. Any tips? Appreciate it!

Hi Evie, thank you! I went for the free WordPress site for a year before taking the plunge and going self-hosted as I didn’t want to shed out money if I wasn’t going to stick with it. Self-hosted is a lot more versatile – I guess it all depends on what you’re after!

I decided to make myself feel like I was going somewhere tonight by putting a full face of makeup on, with the intention of sitting on the sofa sharing a bottle of Disaronno with Aaron to see the new year in! We might hit up the kitchen, the living room and Aaron suggested the bathroom but I wasn’t sure šŸ˜‚ what have you got planned for tonight? And Happy New Year to everyone!
And that’s Christmas over for another year (alth And that’s Christmas over for another year (although let’s be honest, 2020 may as well not have happened!) and I just hope to god 2021 is a damn site better for everyone! Since I’ve been attempting to cut out purchasing brand new clothing all together, bar a few items such as underwear and pyjamas, I’m hoping once Hertfordshire is out of Tier 4 that I can head to the shops and do some serious secondhand shopping and use the vouchers I got to buy myself some new beauty bits. How was your quiet Christmas and have you got any beauty recommendations for me? #hertsbloggers #fashionbloggeruk #ukfashionblogger #ukstyleblogger #hertsbloggerlove #sustainablefashionblogger #secondhandfashionblogger #petitebloggeruk #petitefashionbloggeruk #outfitinspo #mylookoftheday #ootdshare #ukfashionblog #petitestyle #hertfordshirebloggers #funkyfashion #ukfashion #ootdinspo #canon700d #canon #amatuerphotography #aspiringfashionblogger #aspiringblogger
Hello strangers! Thought I should pop on here and Hello strangers! Thought I should pop on here and let you all know I haven’t forgotten about this online world, I’ve just needed some time to myself after almost 5 years of continuous life sharing! I also haven’t been heading off anywhere glam or buying much to share on here, so today’s snap is a bit of a throw back to just before the first lockdown when I found this gorgeous wool blazer in @british_heart_foundation from @poloralphlauren 🄰 how are you all and have you managed to find any bargain secondhand finds?! ā™»ļøšŸŒæ
I’ll be honest and say that I’ve completely go I’ll be honest and say that I’ve completely gone off of Instagram over the last few months and popped on here this morning for the first time in weeks to see if I could get back into the swing again. To be honest I’ve been so busy with work most days, that when it comes to having some free time all I want to do is slob out, watch something on the telly and do nothing - I spend most of my life on my laptop or work phone, that the last thing I want to do when I’m finished is churn out more content. But I’ve come to realise that’s okay - I don’t need to let my social media dictate how I live my life, or feel bad about the fact that I don’t have certain things, can’t go certain places or live a certain life - because social media (and especially Instagram), is where people showcase their best selves and not necessarily what’s going on off screen. I realised a while ago that jealousy isn’t going to get me anywhere; I might look at someone online and envy their life, but should be thankful (and am!) for the life that I’ve already got - there’s always going to be someone worse off and everyone has different goals or ideals in life, so there’s no use in getting bogged down when I can’t afford to go certain places, have certain things, when I’ll get where I need to be in my own time. I just need to carry on doing my own thing and not let the Instagram envy get me down ā¤ļø
{GIFTED} Thank you so much to @kaolin.kiln for sen {GIFTED} Thank you so much to @kaolin.kiln for sending me these gorgeous earrings from her Etsy store - everything is zero waste and all packaging is 100% recyclable! I hope you’re all enjoying the gorgeous sunshine and making sure your skin is well protected from the sun - you don’t want to end up tossing and turning because you got burnt and turned into a radiator in a day! We went food shopping and out to the in-laws for our weekly Sunday roast, so I’m now spending the afternoon keeping as cool as I can in the flat, readying myself for another week of work in the heat!

I’ve spent most of the weekend holed up at home, sweating my tits off and binge watching Empire, but it was nice to leave the flat to do some food shopping and have a Sunday roast with the in-laws! We luckily managed to miss the rain both today and yesterday, so got to enjoy some sunshine for a little while! What have you been up to this weekend and have you managed to hit the shops since they introduced the mandatory face masks in shops?
