Merry Christmas!

25/12/2017

Merry Christmas everyone!!
I’ve pre-written this post and scheduled it to upload on Christmas Day for when everyone has ripped open all of their presents, argued with their family over *insert appropriate argument topic for your family here* and stuffed their faces with enough turkey to see you through to Christmas 2018 – don’t worry, I’ve taken today to spend with my family and not sit there writing away, just in case you were concerned that I was one of those people that hates Christmas (I bloody LOVE Christmas!) and would rather sit there and write on my blog lol.

So, in the spirit of Christmas I wanted to write a post outlining everything that makes my own one of my favourite days of the year!

  1. For the last couple of years since I moved out, I head over to my dad and step-Mum’s to open presents and have something random to eat (my dad is king of random – he took a load of us to the local tanning salon for sunbeds and prosecco this year lol). It’s a bit of a mare as they live a couple of towns away, but it just means Aaron and I wake up earlier to open our own presents at home and less time to rip open whatever I’ve been so excited for that year!
  2. For as long as I can remember, all of my family have gotten up at the crack of dawn on Christmas morning, opened presents from each other at home, gotten dressed in the new gear we’ve received, then all headed over to my Grandad’s house for presents, drinks (probably too early being in the morning but ahh well – it’s Christmas!), sausage rolls and my Grandad’s (originally my Grandma’s before she passed away 3 years ago) scotch broth. Its one of my favourite parts of the day and a time when we all get thousands of pictures together, rip the shit out of each other and just have pure bants.
  3. Christmas Dinner (obvs). Aaron and I have been together for 10 and a half years and the majority of those years I’ve joined his family for a turkey roast at precisely 1pm (the same time as our Sunday Lunch/Dinner as Tam calls it lol). I love knowing exactly what we’ll be doing every year and Aaron’s Mum makes the BEST roast dinner (I know everyone says that about their Mum/mother-in-law, Auntie, Granny whatever, but you’re all WRONG 😂)

  4. Wondering what on earth Aaron’s got me in my stocking filler. We always tell each other what we’d like for a main present (I asked for the grey coat I featured in my picks from the Black Friday sales post – instructing him to purchase through my blog so I got a commission from my affiliate link lol). But the last couple of years, we decided to keep a couple of surprises for the day. Last year he bought me this jumper following our engagement the month previous;
  5. And finally, our afternoon nap on the sofa at home after all of the craziness from the day. We stick on whatever Christmas film is playing, snuggle on our small sofa (which I hate and always bang on about – one day I came home and found out that Aaron had bought us some sofa’s without telling me about it. Yes it was cute of him, but they’re so uncomfortable 😂) and have a little snooze.

This year, I’ll be at my other Grandma’s house when this post goes live visiting all of my other side of the family – catching up, having drinks and nibbles whilst watching my adorable little cousins (honestly, they’re the most beautiful children you’ve ever seen) run around and tell us about their love for Brie cheese and how they love Aaron more than my sister and I lol 😂 And there we have it! I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas (I prefer to say merry than happy – I don’t get saying happy Christmas when you say Happy Birthday, Happy Easter etc.) and hope you all have the greatest day with your families 🎄🎄
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Hello all! I’m trying not to leave too much time Hello all! I’m trying not to leave too much time between posts as I have been in the last few months, so I think a couple of weeks is an improvement! On our way home from food shopping last week (highlight of the week!) we decided to stop by one of my favourite spots to take some outfit photos, where the majority of what I’m wearing is second hand (bag, jacket and jumper). I’m getting extremely stir crazy, but at the same time have turned into quite the hermit, I miss going out for lunch with Aaron, mooching around the charity shops and going out to do site visits for work - let’s hope this vaccine helps bring some normality!
And the final day of 2020 is upon us! I decided to And the final day of 2020 is upon us! I decided to make myself feel like I was going somewhere tonight by putting a full face of makeup on, with the intention of sitting on the sofa sharing a bottle of Disaronno with Aaron to see the new year in! We might hit up the kitchen, the living room and Aaron suggested the bathroom but I wasn’t sure 😂 what have you got planned for tonight? And Happy New Year to everyone!
And that’s Christmas over for another year (alth And that’s Christmas over for another year (although let’s be honest, 2020 may as well not have happened!) and I just hope to god 2021 is a damn site better for everyone! Since I’ve been attempting to cut out purchasing brand new clothing all together, bar a few items such as underwear and pyjamas, I’m hoping once Hertfordshire is out of Tier 4 that I can head to the shops and do some serious secondhand shopping and use the vouchers I got to buy myself some new beauty bits. How was your quiet Christmas and have you got any beauty recommendations for me? #hertsbloggers #fashionbloggeruk #ukfashionblogger #ukstyleblogger #hertsbloggerlove #sustainablefashionblogger #secondhandfashionblogger #petitebloggeruk #petitefashionbloggeruk #outfitinspo #mylookoftheday #ootdshare #ukfashionblog #petitestyle #hertfordshirebloggers #funkyfashion #ukfashion #ootdinspo #canon700d #canon #amatuerphotography #aspiringfashionblogger #aspiringblogger
Hello strangers! Thought I should pop on here and Hello strangers! Thought I should pop on here and let you all know I haven’t forgotten about this online world, I’ve just needed some time to myself after almost 5 years of continuous life sharing! I also haven’t been heading off anywhere glam or buying much to share on here, so today’s snap is a bit of a throw back to just before the first lockdown when I found this gorgeous wool blazer in @british_heart_foundation from @poloralphlauren 🥰 how are you all and have you managed to find any bargain secondhand finds?! ♻️🌿
I’ll be honest and say that I’ve completely go I’ll be honest and say that I’ve completely gone off of Instagram over the last few months and popped on here this morning for the first time in weeks to see if I could get back into the swing again. To be honest I’ve been so busy with work most days, that when it comes to having some free time all I want to do is slob out, watch something on the telly and do nothing - I spend most of my life on my laptop or work phone, that the last thing I want to do when I’m finished is churn out more content. But I’ve come to realise that’s okay - I don’t need to let my social media dictate how I live my life, or feel bad about the fact that I don’t have certain things, can’t go certain places or live a certain life - because social media (and especially Instagram), is where people showcase their best selves and not necessarily what’s going on off screen. I realised a while ago that jealousy isn’t going to get me anywhere; I might look at someone online and envy their life, but should be thankful (and am!) for the life that I’ve already got - there’s always going to be someone worse off and everyone has different goals or ideals in life, so there’s no use in getting bogged down when I can’t afford to go certain places, have certain things, when I’ll get where I need to be in my own time. I just need to carry on doing my own thing and not let the Instagram envy get me down ❤️
{GIFTED} Thank you so much to @kaolin.kiln for sen {GIFTED} Thank you so much to @kaolin.kiln for sending me these gorgeous earrings from her Etsy store - everything is zero waste and all packaging is 100% recyclable! I hope you’re all enjoying the gorgeous sunshine and making sure your skin is well protected from the sun - you don’t want to end up tossing and turning because you got burnt and turned into a radiator in a day! We went food shopping and out to the in-laws for our weekly Sunday roast, so I’m now spending the afternoon keeping as cool as I can in the flat, readying myself for another week of work in the heat!

I’ve spent most of the weekend holed up at home, sweating my tits off and binge watching Empire, but it was nice to leave the flat to do some food shopping and have a Sunday roast with the in-laws! On the way home we stopped at a field near home to take some photos for today’s post and it was fun to try out a new location, rocking my #secondhanddress I picked up from @scopecharity last weekend!
