[…] We all know that we should be donating clothes to charity or trying to sell our old clobber on good old eBay – but how many of us actually take the time out to do so?! I know for one I’m more of chuck it in a bag, donate to charity or family that love my clothes (there’s often bickering about who I give it to), but I decided that I should put some items up for sale to make some extra cash to invest in materials for my new Etsy store My Fashion Faux Pas (make sure to check out my store opening announcement here). […]

Today, I have a reeeealllyyy exciting announcement! If you follow me on Twitter/Instagram/Facebook you’ll have seen some sneak previews of some clothing I’ve been customising/making in preparation for my official Etsy store launch and I’m here today to share it all with you! I give you… MY FASHION FAUX PAS;
I love sewing, fashion, customised clothing and pretty much all things girly so I wanted to channel everything into creating my own store online where I can sell upcycled, customised clothing. The whole concept is turning a piece of clothing that may have once been into a fashion faux pas into a fashion win! I’ve been doing some searching on Etsy to see what kind of competition there is out there and noticed that although a lot of upcycled clothing is available, it’s pretty hippyish, mainly patchworked cuts of fabric from old garments (which I do love by the way!) to create new clothing. I saw there was a gap for everyday, mainstream pieces which would appeal to a larger market and went with my gut.
Not gonna lie, one of my favourite parts of what I’ve been making is the labels I’ve got to sew into each item;
I’ve also enjoyed experimenting with different fabric printing techniques – stay tuned for some different kinds of print styles coming soon!
I’ve spent the last couple of weeks sewing to my hearts content, customising bags and preparing for an official launch and I really hope you enjoy having a mooch – maybe you could help a girl out and buy something if you really like😉?
I aiming to sell 5 items in my first month so would appreciate your help and feedback on what I’ve got to offer!
I’ve inserted some images which link to my store below for you to check out;
I really hope you like what I have on offer – I would appreciate any feedback you have in the comments below, give my shop a little love and you can always let me know if you’d like something custom made – I’m open to anything!
