[…] Wish […]

So I’ve heard about Wish before and thought for today’s post I would give them a go. Wish is an app similar to the likes of Ali Express (I think it’s actually owned by AliExpress) which connects merchants from across the world in one app – let me know if you’d like to see a post on Ali Express in the comments! Each item has its own reviews from customers all over the globe and merchants have ratings too. They sell everything from fashion and beauty to gadgets and homeware.
However, sticking with the overall goal of The Fashion Faux Pas of Gabrielle – I chose to go for fashion. Because what kind of fashion blogger would I be if I didn’t?!
I ordered 4 things through the app from different sellers, a jumper, a top and some trousers (the last one of them was a stick on bra that are all the rage right now – and no I will not be showing you my tits, this isn’t page 3 my friends) on the 21st of September.
Each thing comes from a different seller, so delivery times will vary and there’s a cost to ship each item. Bit of a bummer, but there’s no helping that!
Here’s some screen shots of the bits I’ll be reviewing today including their prices;
I bought the trousers in red and both tops/jumpers in grey.
Grey Crew Neck Crochet Hem Top
This was probably the best of the bunch – I ordered it in a size Medium (I’ve found that the sizing in China is quite small so didn’t want to go for a small), but I could have done with a size smaller. The quality was pretty good, fabric was a nice jersey that wasn’t cut strangely (I have found some things don’t sit properly when they’re trying to save on fabric so cut against the grain) and all it needs is a good iron on the crocheted hem. I’ll definitely wear this as a lounge top around the house.
Grey Double Layer Slouchy Top
I had high hopes for this top, but the quality was pretty shit. The chiffon under-layer was super see-through and I didn’t like that the grey jersey layer was open at the back. I also don’t like how the neckline was faced off so you could see it at the back because the chiffon was so see-through. I like the idea of this, but not the execution!
Red Tapered Trousers
Another fail of an item in terms of fabric quality – they’ve been made pretty well (oh hello pockets!) but you can literally see my pants through them. They feel like the material children’s tents are made of. Another item where the design is nice, but the fabric lets it down and when I tried them on again for the above pictures, the plastic end on the ties fell off! I can’t complain too much as they cost me just £3.85 including shipping lol!
Final Thoughts
Great for throwaway fashion, you need to make sure you check the reviews on sellers and items being sold as it’s a roulette as to whether you end up with a quality item or not. It’s probably not my go to place for fashion as I prefer to know I’m going to get a quality product, but would be great for picking up clothes for fancy dress/ costume party? Let me know what you think in the comments below and stay tuned for some more fashion reviews!

I’ve always wanted to order off wish to see how much of a fail cheap items are!!
It’s so much fun 😂😂 I’ve actually ripped the trousers up and am remaking in another fabric!
That’s actually such a good idea 😂 how long did these things take to come?
Ermmm a couple of weeks I think? It’s all dependent on the seller really! They all came at different times – one took a week another took 2 nearly 3 weeks
ohhh okay! might have to buy some stuff one day 😂
Wow, such a disappointment, I’ve always been scared of ordering from sites like those, unfortunately the pictures rarely match the final product, such a shame 🙁

I know right! It’s pretty much pot luck as to whether you get something good!
