I love YouTube – it’s how I’ve found so many amazing bloggers and it’s one of my favourite types of social media.
However, having your own channel and knowing how best to share it is so difficult and disheartening at times.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve only officially been back on the YouTube bandwagon since May, but when I compare how well my blog is doing to my channel, I can’t help but wonder whether it’s worth bothering!
I find filming and editing a lot more time consuming than writing content on here – it’s also harder to produce content when you’re trying to keep to a budget! I’m limiting how much money I’m spending on clothes which limits the type of videos I enjoy filming – I wish I could record multiple Asos unboxing’s every month, but in reality that’s just not sustainable!
It also doesn’t help that I’ve been feeling really shit health wise and not massively up for filming myself – writing is a lot easier and natural for me.
So I guess for me, the highs of YouTube are finding other content creators and spending many hours watching fellow bloggers rock that blogging life.
The lows are wondering if I should continue to upload and share content on there or give it a break? I don’t feel like I’m getting that much interaction in comparison to my blog and I’d like to ask you as my readers whether you’d like me to continue filming?
Let me know your thoughts in the comments below and if you haven’t seen any of my videos, feel free to check out some of my latest ones below;
Should I carry on or give it a break for a while to return at a later date or what would you like to see – let me know!

I completely relate to this. I tried having a channel for a month before deciding that editing takes wayyyy too much time. If it’s stressing you out a whole lot, I wouldn’t continue it. Maybe even wait until you get more blog follows so then once you have more people following your blog, you’ll have more people who will go follow you on YouTube, which will make it seem a bit more worth it. Besides, we want to hear and see you being your natural self, and if filming doesn’t feel natural while writing does, writing is probably the best way to communicate and connect with your audience. 🙂 Hope this helps!

Thank you lovely!! I’ll see how I feel but not going to force myself to do it! ❤️
I did videos once but just realised that it’s not for me 🙂 if you enjoy it I think you should continue creating 🙂
Thank you! Just going to take some time and decide I think!
I haven’t checked out your channel before but I will definitely do so, I think if you enjoy it then you should continue it.
Thank you! Definitely going to have a think about it!
I completely understand where you are coming from. Videos take such a long time edit, and if you are not seeing a great response in engagement terms it’s frustrating. I have loads of stuff recorded but I don’t have time to edit it! What is your overall aim? As I would focus on the parts that would help you reach your goal.
Such a long time! I’ve got one ready to edit but don’t have the energy right now! And I think that’s what I’m lacking – a goal! Food for thought! Thank you!
I admire anyone confident enough to start a youtube channel! It’s something I’ve always wanted to do but I’m too scared to do it. I have a similiar problem when I’ve taken a break from blogging for a while; sometimes taking a step back is such a good thing and when inspiration strikes, I’m eager to get right back into it!

Go for it!! You’ll never know unless you give it a go! I think I’m going to spend the weekend getting back into it again! Xx
If you enjoy YouTube then you should continue to use it, if you don’t stop – don’t be disheartened by growth if it’s something that you want to do x
