[…] This is a really easy thing to do and you could even get your friends/family in to help you out if you’re lacking inspiration! I’ve set myself challenges such as wearing an item in four different ways, wearing every single item I own which has really helped me make better use of my wardrobe. If you want some inspiration, make sure to check out some of my one item styled four ways series on white trainers, khaki bomber jacket and striped maxi dress […]

I wasn’t planning on using this dress for a post until I pulled it out of my wardrobe and decided to do something a bit different rather than just wearing the dress on its own.
This maxi dress is a fave of mine that I picked up in American Apparel before all went Pete Tong for them and I’m happy to have nabbed a staple before they went bust.
My first look is a pretty standard one – dress paired with jacket and red trainers (I came to the conclusion that these aren’t burgundy as I’ve been saying ever since I got them). A casual off duty look that’s pretty effortless but stylish all the same.
And this was the outfit that started this post. I was hunting for something to wear on this morning and thought the dress would look good if I paired it with a plain white tee underneath and some white trainers. Something a bit different that’s the whole point of this series – to make better use of things I wouldn’t normally wear in a certain way and get my money’s worth from my wardrobe!
I then decided if I was going to try out a plain white tee that I should pull out a black top for underneath and pair it with my black trainers from New Look!
I think I prefer this to the white tee as I don’t need to worry about my top falling off my shoulders and making my shape look weird!
And for the final look I decided to pull out my trusty DM’s and go stripe on stripe with a striped tee underneath!
I really loved this in the pictures, but it was far too warm and humid for me!
And there you have it! One item styled 4 ways! Let me know if you’ve got anything you’d like to challenge me to style in the comments!
Until next time…
