[…] Does this bring me joy? […]

For those avid Gilmore Girl fans out there, I’m hoping you can relate to the title of this post and the latest series when Emily starts to sort through her entire house, questioning everything she has with “does this bring me joy?”
I decided to opt for this quote when sorting through my wardrobe to create a condensed capsule of clothes that bring me joy.
Given, I was not joyful when it came to sorting through my pyjamas. The hermit in me adores each and every discoloured piece of clothing I wear to bed, but alas! I needed to get rid of some crap.
I’ve listed a few of the items that no longer give me joy and have been passed on to charity (but more than likely my sister’s wardrobe as quote; “you always buy nicer things that I do Gab”) to hopefully give you a few ideas for starting out your year with a fresh wardrobe of clothes that bring you joy when each time you open it;
1. The pyjamas had to go – all 12 mismatched, discoloured items
2. The shirt bought from the app Ali Express that was terribly made and never worn
3. The multiple pairs of printed trousers that haven’t been worn
4. The genuine fake Mulberry clutch from Turkey
5. The off white Primark shirt
6. The bodycon dress without a zip, never worn as I could barely get it over my head to put on
7. One of many printed New Look dresses that looked great at the time, but hasn’t been worn since I first wore it
8. The light blue shirt I want to love but wrinkles as soon as it touches a human body and looks cheap
9. The burnt orange Topshop dress that does bring me joy, but the tear on the bottom layer does not
10. The knitted cardigan with the tangled tassels
And there you have it, I now have 50 items hanging in my wardrobe (probably not few enough to call a capsule, but it’s a start!) and am feeling very joyous!
And breathe!
Until next time…

Well done Gab! I got rid of a lo of ‘stuff’ when we moved but I’ve slid back into ‘hoardom’ now that I’m into making rag rugs. Teehee. xx
3 bin bags out! I think I’m going to make it an annual thing 😉xx
