Everyone has at least one item of clothing which mysteriously goes missing, I on the other hand, have countless pieces which have taken a wander over the years.
Up until I moved out almost 3 years ago, 99% of the time my younger sister Georgie was the culprit. If you have a sibling, you will understand the lifetime struggle of keeping a hold of your favourite clothes. There’s 15 months between George and I (although I look like the younger one, I’m actually older) so being a similar age and size, for as long as I can remember, we’ve shared our clothes. I wouldn’t have minded if I knew I was going to see them again, but I’ve lost count of the amount of clothes she would leave at her friends houses, parties, different countries and god knows where else. The jeans, shorts, tops, dresses, shoes I dread to think of it all! The worst ones are the ones I love. George and I always had a rule that you’d have to have worn something 10 times before the other one was allowed to borrow it, but we would always end up breaking that rule. I will admit that I’ve pinched a few bits from her over the years and that we’ll always be in this endless cycle of clothes stealing.
As we haven’t lived together for a few years, I no longer have her to blame for clothes going missing but I do sometimes reminisce about some of my favourite clothes which went missing on her watch. My converse, my vans, my white denim jacket, my vintage Mulberry bag (bitch, I know you still have that one! ) are among some of the ones I can think of from the top of my head. I’ve inserted a picture below of the white denim jacket;
Look at how much I am loving life in this picture! Yes, I had had a few drinks and was dancing in the pub, but I like to think the jacket made me feel fierce!
So George, if you’re reading this post, I want you to know that I love you dearly and forgive you for the many clothes you have lost over the years. But, I would like that Mulberry back
Until next time…
