The £50 Primark Challenge

The £50 Primark Challenge

We all know Primark are great for a bargain and as it’s been a while since I had a shop there, I thought for today’s post I would set myself a budget of £50 to pick up as much great quality clothing as I could.
With prices slowly creeping up, I wanted to see whether you can get as much bang for your buck as you would a few years back! So without further ado, here’s what I managed to bag with my budget (plus 60p 😉)

I needed some new basics like vests and strappy tops, so headed straight there when we walked in. I picked up a black and a white strappy top, a black and a white vest top, a mustard and white striped strappy top and a red cotton tee with flowy sleeves. I also picked up a Love Island slogan tee, because I’m a sucker for that show and needed to have one to lounge around the flat in 😉

With my basics in arm, I tried to hunt down some skirts and summery bits as my wardrobe has been lacking in the summer department (I’m sure if you follow my Instagram you might have noticed repeat outfits and the one I wore out that day in the picture above highlights that).
I have to say I was a bit disappointed in the range of skirts and the lack of sizes available – the majority were all tight fitting jersey type that I know will end with sweat all over my legs (I’m not about that life). However, I did find a gorgeous striped button down skirt which I thought would be perfect for work – a pure Primark bargain at £13, I was onto a winner!
The dresses available were also a bit too tacky looking so I gave a lot of them a miss until I came across a beaut denim Bardot style dress with white embroidery – IN LOVE! And a bargain at just £12!
The last couple of bits I picked up were a multi-pack or invisible socks and a pair of check print plimsoles for just THREE POUNDS! I wear a UK size 4 and the only bloody pair I liked were available in a 5 or 3 (the rest of the show range was a bit shit and shoddy quality). So I tried the size 5, they were far too big and I put them back. I then tried the size 3 when I couldn’t let them go and thought I could suffer a little bit of pain for how cute they were. I mean, could I live without £3? And if they don’t work I can always give them to my sister George who has tiny feet!

My grand total came in at £50.60 – I was adding up everything while we were walking around and Aaron continued to ask how much we were at (he hates Primark and the one we visited isn’t full of the most pleasant people). I knew I might be a few pence over budget, but was pretty proud I kept it almost bang on – Aaron was over the moon to finally get out of there and I had a bag full of new clothes to rock for the summer!
So what can £50 get you? I’ve listed everything with the prices below;

      I do love a good primark shop. Tend to find everything I love when I have no money and all the shit stuff must get put out when I have a few quid to treat myself, typical! I really love the skirt though!!

      Am I allowed to use this blog post as an excuse to go on a shopping binge? I feel like I’m really needing some retail therapy right now but my bank account is telling me different… I LOVE that skirt, it is so dreamy and something I’d 100% wear myself! The dress is for sure going to look gorgeous on you and the shoes are super cute too. For £3 you can’t really go wrong. I’m excited to see these new bits creeping onto your Instagram, I love your haul posts, more please!! (an excuse for you to do more retail therapy…)

      Oh man, I could so easily spend £50 in Primark, just give me five minutes and I’ll grab all the things. I absolutely love Primark, I always wonder round on my lunch – I need to stop to be honest as I’m trying to save money. I love how much you can get for £50 though, it’s great. The skirt is definitely my favourite, you can pick up some absolute gems sometimes, I’ve found a few nice jumpsuits in there recently. More haul posts soon please, they’re my faves! x
